Eco Build 2018: ZedPod Housing

Our remit in regard to attending the exhibition this year was a little different to previous years, where we have either (i) exhibited, having an entire stand to ourselves or (ii) attended exclusively as delegates, using the event as a networking opportunity, meeting customers and prospects, etc. It was a little different this year as we attended primarily as delegates, but with the added impetus that we were going to witness the fruits of many months’ collaboration with a new key partner, as we supported them on their stand.

The SUNFIXINGS Group has evolved significantly in the last 12 to 18 months, bringing pioneering new products to both domestic and international markets…exciting times indeed! Such market diversity is no better demonstrated than with our ongoing development activity with Zed Factory (https://www.zedfactory.com/) as we have developed a Solar PV and battery storage proposition for their modular homes. Theirs is an absolutely fantastic concept and without doubt, Zed Pod was the biggest and most compelling modular house on display at the exhibition, complete with SUNFIXINGS Solar PV mounting system and panels installed. Ideal for student accommodation purposes and onsite key workers (hospitals, etc, for example), these houses can be easily deployed with minimum planning red tape, even on raised platforms above car parks to offer maximum utilisation of space. The foot fall numbers on all 3 days was nothing short of staggering , with well over 1,000 visitors to the Zed Pod each day. Absolutely phenomenal!

The networking element of the event is not to be dismissed this year either and again reflects market diversity. Instead of previous years, where meeting traditional PV installers was the main focus, EcoBuild 2018 saw us meet with organisations such as City Councils, large scale PV developers, PV investment companies and major roofing contractors…all with a view to collaborating and deploying Solar PV in different ways but all with the same mantra…Solar Without Compromise.
